The 1915 Austrian 1 Ducat restrike is a trusted and affordable way to add historic European gold to your bullion holdings. Produced by the Austrian Mint in 3.4 grams .986 (23.75-carat) gold, these coins are comparable in size and precious metal content to a UK Half Sovereign. Though dated 1915, they are official restrikes struck to the same specifications as historic Ducats. The obverse features a classical portrait of Emperor Franz Joseph I, while the reverse displays the iconic double-headed eagle, long associated with the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Compact, beautifully detailed, and easy to trade, 1915 Ducat restrikes are an appealing addition to any gold collection.

Restrike 1915 Gold Ducat

Gold Ducats are historic European coins, minted for centuries by the House of Habsburg. The final regular issue of 1 Ducat coins was made on the eve of World War One, but restrikes were later made in large quantities by the Münze Österreich (Austrian Mint), all dated 1915.
High-Purity Historic Bullion
Investors appreciate these historic bullion coins because they are made from high-purity .986 (23.75-carat) gold, notably finer than 22-carat UK Sovereigns. Each 1915 Ducat weighs 3.5 grams and measures 20 millimetres.
Emperor Franz Joseph I
Each of these 1915 Ducat restrikes features an obverse portrait of Franz Joseph I, Emperor of Austria and King of Hungary, by medallist Joseph Tautenhayn. The legend reads 'FRANC · IOS · I · D · G · AUSTRIAE · IMPERATOR'.
Austrian Double-Headed Eagle
The reverse shows the double-headed Imperial eagle, the Reichsadler, with the arms of Austria on its chest and a sceptre and an orb in its claws. The inscription reads 'HVNGAR · BOHEM · GAL · LOD · ILL · REX · A · A · 1915'.
Investing In Austrian Mint Coins
These Austrian Mint coins are valued for their high gold content but also their long history and connections to the Austrian Empire. As restrikes, their value is as bullion coins, but they remain a fascinating addition to any stack.
